What is the tuition incentive program (TIP)?
The Tuition Incentive Program is a state policy meant to help families in need send their students to college. To qualify for TIP, a student must have been on Medicaid for 24 months out of a 36 month consecutive time period since their 12th birthday. Eligible TIP students, or Scholars, have their first two years tuition at a community college or participating university paid for. This is called Phase I. After that they receive a $500 stipend each school year for two years. This is called Phase II. Learn more here!
